Home Place farm is in a beautiful part of the world and the Exmoor village of Challacombe is a great base for you to explore both North Devon and Exmoor National Park, where you’ll find wonderful walks, beautiful moorland and stunning coastlines. We love it here and we think you will too.

Set in 5 acres of private lakeside grounds alongside the River Bray, Home Place Farm is just a 5 minute walk up the lane to the village shop and the welcoming local Inn which is very popular throughout North Devon for its great food.

Our Cottages

Our 4 cottages are based around a small courtyard with the Spa Barn on one side and the cottages on the other two sides. Byre and Woodruff have their own private Jacuzzi hot tubs. Solar panels and biomass boilers provide much of the power, and for guests with electric vehicles we have an EV charging point.

If you’re wanting to be surrounded by glorious green countryside, but are also partial to some awe-inspiring coastline, then Exmoor is the place for you. We live in and share a beautiful part of the countryside, which is why sustainability, ecology and restoration are at the heart of Home Place Farm. No matter if it’s exploring the stunning terrain of the National Park that surrounds us, heading to the breathtaking coastline, or finding relax and recuperation in our onsite Wellbeing Centre, we want you to leave your holiday feeling restored, refreshed and relaxed.

Broadsands Beach

Although it’s tricky to pick just one favourite spot from the places the North coast has to offer, Broadsands Beach, near Combe Martin, is certainly one of ours. There are some 250 steps down to the rocky beach, but a little piece of North Devon heaven awaits you and it’s definitely worth it on sunny afternoon.

The Wellbeing Centre

This is a place that offers a wonderful feeling of relaxation and renewal. It is the sense of wellbeing which is so often at the heart of a stay here, and you will find your own ways of making the connection, even if it’s simply by taking a peaceful walk down by the lake, or looking up at the stars on a clear night.

"My friends and I had a wonderful 3 night break in the cottage with a hot tub, it was peaceful, relaxing and just what we needed. The treatment therapist was fantastic, a real professional. There was a power cut in the area one afternoon whilst we were there and the hosts could not have looked after us better; they brought us candles, duvets, boiling water and some dinner! We were very well looked after. This is a great place to go if you really want to get away from everything!"
