Our stay at Kaye’s was fantastic. Kaye and Rich are lovely people who really care about the experience and environment. The cottage was cosy and well equipped. The hot tub was such an exciting luxury, and instructions were clearly explained to us. The grounds are stunning and we enjoyed wondering about them. The location is great for a variety of walks. We are excited to visit again sometime. Thanks Kaye and Rich for having us!

This place is a little slice of heaven, incredible scenery, the cottage itself was delightful, had absolutely everything we needed, comfortable, clean and a lovely cosy feel to it, a true hidden gem. The local pub, The Black Venus was amazing, the food absolutely wonderful, do book in advance though! Our hosts Kaye and Richard were really lovely, friendly, warm and welcoming.

A wonderful place to stay! Kaye let us know ahead of time the best route to get to the village which was extremely helpful. The hosts were available throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The cottage was warm and cosy, and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and we had outdoor space to enjoy our morning coffee in the sun, listening to the birds. The hot tub was very relaxing and easy to use.The area had a charming local pub with delicious food and lovely views. We picked up goose and chicken eggs for breakfast from their very own geese and chickens. There is a lovely local walk to the village church which is about 2 miles, turning into 3 when you’ve made some ‘shortcuts’.Extremely well placed to visit lots of local areas. We can recommend Illfracombe, Woolacombe (3 mile beach), Lynton, Lynmouth, Combe Martin (with a great animal park), Dulverton (a great woodland walk). The closest convenience store we found was in Lynton (around 15 minute drive).

A fantastic cottage hosted by a brilliant family. The welcome breakfast basket was a particularly lovely touch especially after a long drive. The location is ideal to explore North Devon and all the wonderful beaches. And the food at the local pub is out of this world! We had a wonderful holiday and would return in a heartbeat.

We had a great stay at the cottage. The cottage was clean and cosy and the bed we so comfortable! There’s a lovely pub just 5 minutes walk down the road and it’s a great location to drive to nearby beaches. Kaye and Richard were lovely and very helpful with anything that we needed. We also really enjoyed the basket full of bread, eggs, butter, jams and juice left for us on arrival, a very nice touch!
Alexandra
Such a great cottage, idyllic position in a quite lane just a short wander from the local pub. We found it perfect for exploring north Devon and after a long day of walking and surfing a relax in the hot tub was bliss. Extremely helpful hosts and lovely family always happy to help. Plus the cottage has its own EV charger.

Fantastic place!! Richard and Kaye are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome, offering us some salad from there veg patch and great recommendations for beaches and local attractions. The hot tub was a winner and the house was just what we needed. We had a 2 and a half year old and we arrived to find a basket of games, train tracks and story books that kept him entertained when we were at the house. Many of the house and shower products were eco friendly and there was a selection of food in a welcome basket on arrival. The house is also surrounded by beautiful countryside with a stream, walks and a lake all near by. It is about 20-45mins from different beaches including Linton & Lynmouth and Woolacombe.Highly recommend and from autumn onwards they will also have the spa up and running too!!Thank you so much for our stay!!

Byre Cottage was in a great location to explore the North Devon beaches and Exmoor national park. The cottage was clean and was in a nice quiet area. Kaye and Richard are lovely hosts and they were always available, if we needed anything. There was wonderful breakfast basket which was very helpful to settle in. We would definitely return again, if we are in the area.

We had a great stay in Byre Cottage. Lovely place, very homely with everything we needed for a week away with the kids. Quiet location with pub and shop 5mins walk away. For those who need it, great WiFi too…well tested by a couple of teenagers. We spent most days out and about at the local beaches…Combe Martin, Woolacombe, Staunton, and Croyde. For those looking for fun activities we’d recommend surf lessons at Surf Saunton, Quad Bikes at Keypitts Farm, the High Ropes and Ultimate Assault course at Ultimate Day Out, and a little drive away, paddle boarding at Wimbleball lake. Lovely to return to a great hot tub at the end of the day. Thanks Kaye & Richard, great hosting. The welcome basket was much appreciated, I think I’m addicted to the sourdough toast and local organic jam!

We spent a brilliant week in this lovely cottage on the edge of Exmoor and within driving distance of many beaches in North Devon. The grounds are amazing, even with a lake that you could swim in if you so wished! The cottage looked beautiful and was very cosy. The hot tub was fantastic to use at the end of each day. The beds were very comfy and it was so quiet at night. The cottage had a good selection of board games to play and was a short walk away from a very good pub. Kaye and Richard we’re really friendly and supplied a brilliant welcome hamper. Very much recommended.

Gorgeous and cosy little cottage in a very quiet location but within easy reach of the coastal walks and beaches. There was a great pub within walking distance too. Kaye and Rich were great hosts.

Beautiful, peaceful location with the added benefit of a hot tub. Compact accommodation for six people. The outdoor space to sit, relax and walk in was a bonus. Our hosts were very pleasant and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We made use of the treatment room on site. The therapist was excellent.

We had such a lovely stay at Kaye’s cottage. Both she and her husband made us feel so welcome, and we were also treated to a lovely tour of the beautiful grounds by the dog! The accommodation is idyllic and was incredibly clean too. We slept wonderfully and the beds were very comfy. A lovely basket of local produce was also really appreciated. It was so nice to be able to go from swimming in the lake to jumping in the hot tub, and the walks you can take from the cottage are beautiful. Don’t hesitate to book!

We had a fantastic couple of days here for my mum’s 80th. Kaye and Richard were incredibly welcoming – there was great communication from the get go from the time of booking to the end of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and all their recommendations, from walking in the area to eating in the local pub, were spot on. They are such a nice couple and we really enjoyed talking to them and hearing the future plans for the place. The place is run ethically too, which was an added bonus. The welcome basket full of local good quality goodies (bread, milk, butter, cereal, jam) was such a lovely addition. The cottage is warm, well lit, and has a cosy atmosphere. Some of the comfiest beds we have ever slept in. Really nice bedding and a well equipped kitchen. The private jacuzzi/hot tub in the front garden was a big draw and it did not disappoint. It has amazing lights for night time and was just the right temperature. Loved the toweling dressing gowns and flip flops in our cupboards. Also, there is a beautiful spa area in the next barn that you can use at an extra cost for your personal use and a very competent therapist who you can book for treatments (massage, facials and mud wraps) . The products she uses are all natural as are all the cleaning/washing products in the house. The setting is lovely. There are tracks from the cottage that lead to a lake. The village is picturesque and you are not far from the coast and right on the edge of Exmoor. Sea and moorland , great combo. Lynton and lynmouth are close by with the Valley of Rocks a short walk away. All in all, a fantastic stay. We will definetely be back. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay, great location and both Kaye and Richard were welcoming. A nice welcome basket greeted us on arrival with all the essentials after a day of travel. They even gave us a toy train track to borrow to keep the little one entertained. There were four adults and two children so was cosy in the cottage but enough space. We made use of the board games left for us in the evenings. Location is great and so peaceful, lovely grounds and quiet lake to sit by. The pub up the road ( the Black Venus) we cannot recommend highly enough as the food is fantastic.Found it a little difficult without a washing machine/dryer when using the hot tub as no where to get clean towels etc. However, perfectly placed for exploring North Devon. We really enjoyed our week there, Kaye and Richard were available if we needed them but left us to it which is how it should be. A great stay.

A beautiful location, beautiful accommodation, and the spa is well worth booking! We had a fabulous 2 night stay, it one of our favourite parts of the country. Our cottage really felt homely, with a little breakfast basket on arrival, through to the full size toiletries. Kaye abs Richard are fabulous hosts, very genuine, and considerate couple, nothing is too much trouble for them, if your looking for tips on places to visit during your stay, just ask, they have an extensive knowledge of the area. Thank you Kaye and Richard for such amazing hospitality.
Kat
Kaye and Richard are wonderful hosts and the cottage and surrounds are gorgeous. 5 min walk to the pub which makes it accessible to have a nice meal out of the cottage if you wish. Kaye and Richard offered lovely touches for our stay, such as a welcome basket and providing robes and flip flops for use of the hot tub. Had a gorgeous weekend with 3 of my girlfriends.

Just had a couple of nights break at Kaye and Richards. Very much needed a short break in our busy run up to Xmas and it was perfect! Very clean. Big comfy beds. Somewhere nice to sit and a hot tub to boot. We really enjoyed ourselves. Kaye’s intro message was very comprehensive and we found the house no problem even in the dark. Kaye and Richard are very welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend!

The most beautiful cottage with stunning scenery. We had the most amazing stay at Kayes cottage for a short New Year break and it was evening better than we had imagined. The rooms were a good size with big comfortable beds, the place was sparkling clean and the hot tub was just perfect to spend time in during cold winter evenings. There was even a welcome hamper!Kaye was really easy and helpful to communicate with from the start, and greeted us on arrival to tell us everything we needed to know. Hope to see you again in future, thanks for a lovely stay.

Kaye and Rich were very welcoming and the cottage was just perfect. A fantastic base from where to explore from. The Hot tub was so relaxing, we especially enjoyed watching all the birds nest building from where it was. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. An amazing cottage in a fantastic location! We recently stayed here to escape our busy lives and enjoy some tranquility and it did not disappoint. Kaye and Rich gave a very warm welcome and have created some amazing cottages, we selected the one with the hot tub and it was superb. Relaxing in there of an evening listening to the vast array of wildlife sounds was the perfect way to relax. There are some superb walks and a quaint river adjacent to the cottages. For food, they recommended the Black Venus Inn which is only a 5 minute walk up the road and the food was exceptional, the best part about it being we could both enjoy a glass of wine or 3 and take a gentle stroll back to the cottage and into the hot tub! If you are looking for a clean, cosy cottage in picturesque surroundings then look no further. You will not be disappointed!
Milla

A great place for a young family or group of friends (there were five of us). We were only staying two nights, but Kaye and Richard were lovely hosts, and the place is perfect. We went for a wild swim and then came back to the ample hot tub. Would certainly return.

Everything was well stocked, the welcome basket was a nice touch. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming and nothing felt like too much trouble. Just the most relaxing and comfortable break we’ve had in many a year. Everything about the location and accommodation was perfect, and from the time we arrived we were made to feel welcome.Facilities within our cottage were fantastic, with comfortable bedrooms and everything you could want to make yourself at home. Oh, and of course, the hot tub!!The surrounding gardens and lake provided an opportunity to relax and explore, with a local pub (2 mins up the road) serving fantastic food.We cannot wait to return.

The cottage is delightful, the location is idyllic, Richard and Kaye are very gracious hosts, we had a wonderful stay. There are walks right from the back door and there are some stunning beaches within a short drive. It was lovely to sit in the hot tub as dusk falls and just chill and watch the bats come out to play!
